     OUR MISSION

  • To support and expand the presence of a Native Texas genre of music known as Tejano and its artistic contribution throughout the community of Austin and Central Texas.

  • Initially created because the Austin Tejano Radio station was taken off the air causing Tejanos to band together and launch the Austin Tejano Music Coalition.  It's goal was to fight to get Tejano radio station back on the airwaves.   Tejano music returned to the air in 2008, and soon the Tejano station was simulcast in both FM and AM, a big victory for Tejano music in Central Texas.

  • Making Tejano STRONGER!

Joined the Austin Tejano Music Coalition a month after it was formed. Austin had just lost it’s Tejano Station. Many other cities also started losing their stations. Losing our radio station meant we were losing our VOICE, our way of communicating with our people. We were also losing our way of promoting our CULTURA, through our music, TEJANO MUSIC.   In the last few years, helping Toys for Tots, Brown Santa, and the 2013 Flood in Dove Springs. Most recent, Taking Tejano Music to the State Capital and Congress Avenue for the Tejano Heritage Celebration in April of 2017.
